Happy Independence Day!

We were invited to Rick's adorable sister Denise's house to celebrate the 4th of July. We had such an amazing time with our family and friends. We live in such an amazing country and I never want to take that for granted. This truly is the greatest place on earth regardless of your political or religious beliefs. Celebrating the birth of this country means more to me than you can imagine. Yes, I'm ridiculously patriotic and make no apologies for it at all! Happy 4th of July!

Johnson Family "Mini" Reunion

We had kind of a "mini" reunion this year. It was so amazing to see the faces we hadn't seen for so long. This is just a pre-cursor to the "big one" in 2010!! It was so much fun but far too short. Can't wait to see more folks next year. We just don't get together near enough anymore. It makes me so sad that my kids hardly know my side of the family or have no idea what our reunions used to be like. I don't really know what happened. Growing up we had reunions every year and we looked forward to them more than Christmas. My favorites were in Logan where we'd camp & play baseball in the park & had games and talent shows at the little hall next to the park. Our family was so close. Those were some good times. Hopefully this year was the beginning of the new Johnson Family Reunions!!

Family Makes the Most Fabulous Friends!

We had a pretty incredible Thanksgiving this year. It was just us and our siblings- no parents at all. We missed them dearly, but there is something very special about the bonds between brothers and sisters. First we spent time with Gary's brothers, wives, and their kids. Then we got to spend time with my sisters, husbands, and their kids. We are all such incredibly good friends. It was so casual and comfortable- it was awesome just chillin' together. I have to say it will go down as one of my favorites ever! Even if we weren't family, I believe we'd all still be great friends!
